G-QUICK wins PLASA Innovation Award

The Gerriets G-QUICK, an ingenious new time-saving device for hanging drapes, has received a PLASA Award for Innovation, despite strong competition from many innovative and technically very sophisticated products. The award was presented in September by the International Jury at the PLASA Show, in London, a leading international trade show for event, installation, and entertainment technology. In October, the G-QUICK also won the Baden-Württemberg International Design “Focus in Silver” Award for 2011.

Gerriets developed the G-QUICK to create an alternative to traditional methods of hanging drapery. The patented device replaces tie lines as a means of attaching grommeted soft goods to pipe battens, making it possible to install and strike stage curtains, backdrops, and other drapery 3 to 4 times faster than by conventional methods.

For example: in a large theater where an average of 20 pipe battens, each 20 m long, are equipped with curtains that are grommeted every 20 to 25 cm, the stage technicians have to fasten and unfasten approximately 3,400 tie lines per day. Taking in so much time and effort was the reason to develop the completely new and far more modern G-Quick.

G-QUICK:  Each G-QUICK consists of -    plastic clip -    plastic ball -    elastic strap -    webbing strap

A plastic clip securely snaps through the grommet hole while an elastic strap with a small plastic ball (in black or red to mark the middle of the curtain)ensures a flexible connection around the batten. The G-Quick is available in 2 different sizes for 50-60 mm and 70-80 mm pipe diameters. All material used is flame retardant.
